Question by Pinky: Significant eating disorder. Please support!!!?
In December I was unhappy with my weight and decided to lose some pounds. I wasn’t fat (5’9″ and about 140 pounds), but I just have often felt much more comfy at a lesser weight. I went on a crash diet plan and excercise program and got down to 120 pounds by Could. I’m a 19 year old sophmore in college now, btw.
Then by June I was residence for the summer. So several bad things have happened, like my parents forced me to watch my 18 year old brother for 3 weeks to make certain he did not commit suicide when he was contemplating doing so. My father has been emotionally abusive as usual too. Then I had sinus surgery mid-June. I went from 120 to 114 in a week from lack of hunger. I ended up in the ER a few times for bleeding complications.
My brother started employing hardcore drugs in July and my parents once once more forced me to do the parenting and attempt to get me to talk him out of it and watch him. In August I had wisdom teeth surgery and went from 110 pounds to 105 pounds.
I initially started the diet plan to get healthier and eat “clean” entire foods like apples, almonds, chicken, etc., but it has spiraled out of control. My parents refused all summer to acquire healthier foods, and instead purchased ice cream, sugary baked beans, white bread, and so on. So whenever they would bring the groceries residence, I would binge on them and then overexcercise later to compensate. When they had been gone at function, I would throw away some of the “poor” food, and at times I even put laxatives in them so I wouldn’t eat it (not risky amounts, just tiny amounts of it).
My parents are force feeding me now when they are home to the point of me feeling like I’m going to throw up all the time. Then during the week I starve myself to make up for it and excercise alot. I want to gain some weight back, but it hurts to eat so I wanna do it with protein shakes/guarantee, which they refuse to purchase for some unknown reason. So now i’m beginning to binge eat out of emotional distress. My dad brought house junk food nowadays rather of healthy food, and I literally started crying.
What can I do to convince them to purchase healthy food? or what items can I say to myself to stop the binging and starving cycle?
I’m 5’9″ and 107 now. Thanks!

You and I are the precise very same height with the exact identical consuming disorder. My weight I will not admit, as the number frightens me.

My eating disorder became worse after I was abducted and raped, and all I can tell you now is this.

You have. To get help. You have to. You are going to die.

The binging and starving is a combination of anorexia and bulimia. Bulimics do not often throw up and typically use physical exercise as a form of purging.

Please get support. Please. Before it’s too late for you like it is for me.

High Intensity Interval Training, or HIIT, as it is most popularly referred to, has now become a buzzword in the health and fitness arena. This is in fact due to the incredible benefits it renders like quick weight loss and overall conditioning of your body. High Intensity Interval Training involves mixing of high intensity training programs with low to moderate intensity training workouts. Now let us discuss how HIIT or High Intensity Interval Training helps to burn fat, lose weight, and above all, build endurance.

Since High Intensity Interval Training programs mostly focus on improving as well as sustaining the healthy metabolic process, this method is considered more effective in shedding off calories and fat when compared to training programs that involve longer aerobic exercises. HIIT is also an excellent choice for those who want to lose as well as maintain their weight in a consistent way. However, the benefits of HIIT are not just restricted to burning fat and weight loss, and a number of other benefits can also be enjoyed with this type of interval training such as increased supply of oxygen in order to help for the improved functioning of muscles in lungs and heart. Above all, it helps for the efficient and regular removal of waste products from your body.

High Intensity Interval Training programs are recommended to anyone who is in good health. You can easily begin a HIIT program by simply re-structuring your present fitness regimens that may include walking, jogging, cycling, and swimming. In other words, all you need to do is to blend strenuous routines with a resting period. However, it is better to avoid HIIT programs on consecutive days, as it is important for your body to completely recover.

Even though HIIT is considered effective for weight loss, HIIT exercise programs are most suitable for advanced fitness enthusiasts. But, beginners can try this by managing the intensity level to suit one’s fitness levels. Later, as you gain experience, you can incorporate advanced programs in your HIIT routine. For best results, it would be better if you could seek assistance of an expert fitness person prior to starting a HIIT program. Likewise, it is advisable for people with medical conditions like arthritis, stroke, and heart diseases to consult with a physician before starting HIIT exercises.

A Healthy Traveler’s Weekly Shopping List

Posted by Chris | Posted in Diet, Nutritional Supplements | Posted on 23-08-2010-05-2008

I travel for work a lot. If you’ve ever done much traveling, you know how easy it is to fall into the trap of unhealthy eating. Luckily, I usually stay at hotels where I have access to a fridge and microwave. This make it much easier to eat clean and stay on track to reach my training goals.

Here is an example of my weekly grocery list. This list is what I bought this evening for three nights. My goal is high protein and low processed carbohydrates. I also use a lot of whey protein powder, which I bring with me. Here is tonight’s haul:

4 Gala Apples
4 White Macadamia Nut Clif Bars
1/2 Gallon Orange Juice w/Calcium (mix with whey protein)
1/2 Gallon Lite Minute Maid Lemonade (mix with whey protein)
1 Gallon Spring Water
1 Package Beef Jerky
2 Slice of Watermelon
Sugar Free Jell-O Cups
1 Bag Chicken Breasts
1 Small Sourdough Baguette
Box of Honey Oat Granola Bars

I also supplement my groceries with salad w/fat free dressing from the hotel’s free evening meal and a small roast beef sandwich from Arby’s (closest decent food source near my client).

This set up allows me to get in approximately 225-250 grams of protein a day, which equates to 1.5 -1.7 grams per pound of body weight.

5 Super Quick and Super Easy High Protein Snacks

Posted by Chris | Posted in Diet | Posted on 23-08-2010-05-2008

If you’re sincere about losing weight or establishing superior muscle bulk, you in all likelihood already try to consume protein abundant foods. Among strength jocks, the common convention is to take in 1.0 to 1.5 grams of protein per pound of body weight. I favor whey and casein protein shakes for the source of just about all of my regular protein. For me, it’s effortless to throw back a few 16 ounce protein shakes during the day. You might ask “what about the rest of the day?” These five quick and effortless protein snacks will assist you in achieving your protein consumption goals.

1. Delicatessen Cut Turkey – Sliced up turkey is abundantly accessible at nearly all grocery stores. Deli Turkey is a mouth-watering and protein dense type of meat with almost a 90% protein makeup. While turkey is by nature low carb and protein dense, be mindful that processed turkey occasionally has been loaded full of carbohydrate rich seasoning. It’s best to look into the nutritional information on the packaging in order to assure that you will be able to get meat that is as reduced in carbs as possible.

2. Tuna - Advancements in package technology have made it doable to acquire tuna in convenient to open packages or pull top containers. No more do you have to keep a can opener handy to consume this fast and protein concentrated snack. Each ounce of tuna is around 90% protein. If tuna by itself is too juiceless for you, try out combining it with table mustard, low-fat mayonnaise, or sweet pickle relish. Tuna can also be mixed in with some leafy greens for a fast salad.

3. Cottage Cheese – This common dweller of the dairy case is plentiful in protein. With only an eight ounce portion of low fat cottage cheese, you are able to ingest roughly 28 grams of gradual digesting protein. This slow release protein can also help downplay hunger till it’s time for your next snack or meal. Cottage cheese can be consumed plain or, for some diversity, include unprocessed fruit or veggies to the mixture.

4. Jerky - Considering which meath the jerky i smade from, a person can anticipate to obtain eight to ten grams of protein per ounce. Jerky is a swell treat while you are on the run, because it needs zero prep and doesn’t have to be kept cold. The major downside of jerky is the increased sodium levels inherent to the preperation.
